Hi Catherine, One other point on coal mining. A collier was a person who mined coal. A miner was someone who mined stone, ore etc. The 2 terms became confused. Roy White

i have quite a few relatives that were coal hewers, and i'm not entirely sure as to what this entailed, can anybody help?
