Good Morning Everyone The majority of my family so far are of English descent .Is it worthwhile subscribing to Ancestry.com . Currently I am using 1837 for BMD. Is this info available on ancestry as well? Thank You in advance Lee |

I'm in the same boat re UK family, and have subscribed to the basic UK/Ireland Ancestry. It's been good to use so far, though with the usual frustrating gaps, but it does have really good images and access to other household members for censuses. I wouldn't have enough need to subscribe to the US part, though. Good luck. Sue(in NZ) |

Ancestry uses the registration information supplied by FreeBMD - it is not the full index. |

Lee Have you seen Barbara in Hampshire's recent message on this board and on the Records board about free trial for Ancestry (without giving your credit card number!). I tried it yesterday and spent all afternoon on there. It's brilliant especially for 1891 census. The others are a bit patchy. I believe there have been some problems when people have switched off their firewalls though to access the site, so beware. I didn't have to. Carole |

I definitely think it's worth it. When I took out an annual subscription, it came out at around £70 - when you think that this is less than £6 per month, it's good value. I have found out so much useful info from the censuses on there. Mandy :) |

Ist screen = Gails Public and Academic Database Trial enter the Username = pubacd17 and Password = durable This opens Gails Page. 3rd option down on the Left menu is Biography - Genealogy click here takes you to another of Gails pages. 2nd option down on the Left menu is AncestryPlus click here. this will now open a NEW PAGE titled infotrack click on ENTER (you can close Gales page at this point) AncestryPlus will now open. Look on the RIGHT hand side and you will see a globe. below it is a link for UK & Ireland records .... click that and hey presto you are ready to search! You shouldn't need to turn off your firewalls or antivirus. Good luck Sioux |

Hi Site looks very interesting but I can't get to access any material. The infotrack page mentioned doesn't appear. Could it be my firewall causing problems? Michelle |
