there are quite a few wiffens on ancestry 1871,1891 and 1901 have you any idea what her grandfathers parents names were susie

Your friend's parent's birth certificate is the place to start, and this will show mother's mauden surname. If you have this and possible Wiffen marriages but none that cross reference, then grandma may have been widowed or divorced when she married. If her maiden surname was unusual, then she could find the first marriage, then x ref married surname to second marriage. Grandma might have married abroad, after the birth of the children, or not at all. Brenda

she is looking for her grandma born 25th march 1912 so it says on her death cert in birmingham she married albert percival wiffen? dont no when she has paid for searches and nothing has come up can you HELP me please
