SKELTON, Rachel <1837> Underwriter 1860 Age: 23 Origin: England Occ: Spinster Note: BMR, p. 151; Listed on the Underwriter [30 Mar 1860]. "Refuses to go" (BMR). but it looks as though she went later SKELTON, Rachel <1838> John Bright 1866 Age: 28 Occ: Spinster Note: BMR, p.211 they were the only Skeltons listed on the immigration discs by the way - Jan in York has Skeltons in her tree - wonter if they are related??????

Hi Debbi and She Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I went off to do the teas for my other halfs cricket team and they ended up not only winning the match but the league as well. So obviously we HAD to have a few drinks to celebrate! lol This is the family from the 1881 Census Thomas Skelton Head 45 East Ayton, Yorks General Ag Lab Susanna Wife 44 Ruston Parva, Yorks James Son 20 West Ayton, Yorks Tailor Tom Son 14 East Ayton, Yorks Hannah Daur 12 East Ayton, Yorks Grace Daur 10 East Ayton, Yorks Phoebe Daur 8 East Ayton, Yorks Kate E Daur 4 East Ayton, Yorks Dwelling: Castlegate, East Ayton If it's any help the vast majority of my ancestors settled in Iowa and Susannas maiden name was Greenley. I recently found some ancestors of mine on the 1881 British Census. There is no trace of them on the 1891 or 1901 censuses. I have a hunch that they may have emmigrated to the USA as many of my ancestors siblings had already gone there (I was given the info about the siblings from my cousin in the US). How would I find out if this particular family had gone too? Thanks. Jeanette
