Northern Ireland records are, frankly, appalling compared to those from the rest of the UK. Fragments of census returns survive for 1911 and 1901, but you need to have a rough idea of the address to search them. It is pot luck whether your area is online or whether you have to physically go and look at the microfiche yourself. BMD records began in 1864, which can be ordered online, and the LDS has some baptism and marriage parish records on familysearch.org.

Judi - see Christine Smith's message posted this afternoon - 'need help dont no where to start'. Also try the search field at the start of each message board - just enter something like 'getting started' or similar and it will bring all previous messages that are related......Good luck :)

Judi Don't panic! Be organised and note down what you find out and where you found it out from. To get going, scroll down the menu on the left-hand side of this posting, past the ad, to Features. Click on Resources Centre, and then on "Getting Started". Good luck, and please ask if/when you need more help. Nell
