Just for anyone who has run out of ideas. Try placing an advert in the local paper of the place of the person your looking for. I did this and found an unknown set of cousins so give it a try.

I did that too -but things didn`t work out.We found out about my husband`s family and then they didn`t want to meet us.We`ve since found out that his father died 7 years(with help from GC) and now don`t know what to do regarding the will-his father remarried 45 years ago. Does anyone know if my husband would have a claim on it? Rosalyn

I saw one in my local paper the other day, a classic example of what NOT to do. It went something like: I am trying to find information on my grandfather. He was at such-and-such a place at one time. I can't find out much information about him so if anyone can help please contact me'. No name. No dates. Silly woman.

You never know, she might get the information she's after. (Doubt it though)

Rosalyn, if your father in law left a will and your husband wasnot named on it I don't think he can claim. But he may be entitled if he did not leave a will- but there are probably time limits and 7 years may well be outside of the limit to apply. I think there was a thread recently about how you could apply to see a will, they are in the public domain so if he elft one you can get a copy. Try searching for a thread entitled wills, it was in the last week or so, they gave an address to contact.
