GR has also had a problem reading my Gedcom - it fails to read any of the marriages and has missed about 150 individuals. It had no problems with my previous gedcoms though. Credit where it is due though, GR has actually replied to my feedback email - 28 July - "our Gedcom expert .... does have quite a few other files to look at so this may well take a couple of weeks". It's a bit disconcerting that my "couple of weeks" has stretched to Julie's "next few weeks"!

Hi Dewi, I have a lot of new relatives to add to my tree. In JUNE, I deleted my tree so I was the only one on it, and tried to upload my updated gedcom of just over 1000 people. No luck, had an odd error message. Reported it to GC/GR...............AND I AM STILL WAITING. I have contacted them several times, this is the latest reply. "I am so sorry for the long delay. I am afraid that our gedcom expert has been really busy lately. There are alot of new changes being made to GenesReunited and he has been concentrating on that. He does have quite a few gedcoms to look at and has assured me that he will try and deal with them all in the next few weeks. I am so sorry it has taken so long. Thank you for your understanding." I am getting VERY frustrated and VERY annoyed. Julie

I'm accessing from my pc at work. We're not allowed unauthorised updates. Having said that, our system is updated daily, so there shouldn't be a problem. However, after sending 2 mails to the hotline, a week apart, I'm still waiting for a sign of life.

Have you been to the Microsoft Windows Update site lately? Part of their updates include internet explorer revisions which your PC may need (which is why you may not be able to view the missing button.) J

I uploaded my tree last year sometime. So far so good. In the meantime I've been working on it and practically doubled it. I wanted to upload my updated tree, but couldn't as the old one was still there. I couldn't just overwrite it. OK so I tried to delete my existing tree according to the given instructions (go to import/export and press the delete tree button in the middle of the screen). Surprise! no delete button. I have 510 names in my existing tree. I haven't got the time nor the inclination to delete every single name. Any suggestions?

Hi not sure which way round you are going. If you want to upload a tree onto GC you have to delete everything except yourself. GC only accepts files in certain formats. ie. gedcom 5.5 Someone else was having difficulties yesterday. best regards Dave

Hi, I've updated my tree by a couple of hundred names, and wanted to upload my gedcom. I tried overwriting the existing tree, but my Explorer crashed. I then thought about deleting the existing tree, but to no avail. I also mailed the "help line" - no answer. Anyone any ideas/suggestions? Ta. D
