Anglo-Jewish Ancestors

For those of you researching Anglo Jewish relatives, this site may be of use: http://www*.jeffreymaynard*.com/ remove * first. Thre are links to family announcements (births, marriages, funerals) in the Jewish Chronicle in the 19th century and I have found a couple relating to my husband's family. His great-grandmother married out of the faith which is why he never heard about his cousins on that side of the family. Oddly we were told that she married in a registry office because she was pregnant - not true. It seems not being a virgin was more respectable than being Jewish! H.
