Genealogy Chat

Hi, all, How do I do it ?? At the moment my partner's name appears and I want to use mine. I have looked at edit/view and I'm not sure quite how to change it .(don't want to cause a cock-up,I'm good at that !!!) Thanks a lot Cheerio Joyce

Hi Joyce, you were on the right track, just go to Edit/View, type in your personel password, this will take you to the details page, and type in the name you want. Hope this helps, Belle.

Joyce I assume you are trying to change David Knight to Joyce Kight? Go to Edit/View Details, enter password then just change David to Joyce and click on Save Changes at the bottom. I just tried it with my name, changing Lynne to Sue and when I posted a message it said I was Sue in Sale so it does work. Maybe you didn't Save changes? Hope it makes sense. Lynne

Joyce I see you've changed your first name. To change your surname enter it in the space where it says Current Surname (if different) and you should then get your name displayed when you post a message. Lynne (not Sue)!!

I have just tried editing my name from Patricia which it insists on calling me and doing Pat which is what I am known as. Dont know if its worked yet as its still welcoming me as Patricia, trying to check with this thread has it done it. I have to sign all my posts as Pat so whatever name is on the top is to be ignored. fingers crossed. Pat
