David, I have only realised tonight that I have been e-mailed but not recieved it. I have just spent half an hour going through all my old and deleted messages looking for the original. I have also been having problems responding to e-mails. This has been over the 6-8 weeks. It is so frustrating when you have spent half an hour typing in all relevant info and the D----d thing doesn't go. So , to anyone who thinks I haven't bothered to reply, I'm trying! Christine. I feel better after that moan. |

Thanks for your comments Julie and Judy! It's not a capacity problem Judy as I rarely get above 15% usage - I see that GeRe even censored which email service I use - It's male and it's not cold! Julie - we seem to be having the same problems, as my gedcom won't import properly - it misses all the marriages and has failed to pick up 150 individuals. Someone at GeRe is looking at the gedcom and hopes to get back to me in a couple of weeks. GeRe admitted to me a few months ago that they had a problem with emails, but I was hoping that the server upgrade recently would have fixed their problem. It hasn't! |

I wonder if this is why I am not getting replies to mail I send out. we could do with a system that tells us when a contact has been opened. I presume when a contact is sent they would inform us if it was bounced back? How do we know when a person is still a member? oh dear I seem full of questions its just that I was really hoping for contact from one person I am sure is related oh well perhaps they never got my mail!! sandra |

David, if you're one who holds onto "read" and "sent" mail in your in/sent boxes, that could be a problem as your ISP only allots you so much storage space. If that isn't cleared up once in a while it tends to prevent mail from being delivered to you. Just a thought.... Judy |

Hello David, Yes, I too am having trouble receiving emails from contacts. It is only because I check my contacts box everyday that I find them! Also, I have been waiting over a month for GR/GC to sort out my tree as it won't let me import my new one! Julie |

Is anyone else having problems receiving emails from contacts? I've just checked my Your Contacts link to find I have 5 people who have contacted me in the last 3 days but no email has been received (I use a *hotmail* address). At the best of times about 50% of initial contact emails arrive but this is getting ridiculous. Contacting customer support has produced a deafening silence -so much for their published 2 working day response time! David (distinctly underimpressed with GeRe) in Notting Hill |
