Hi Jenny, I think that most Record Offices have these records, I am almost certain that Manchester County Records Office at Marshall Street, Manchester, have them and I am sure that they will search for you. Give them a try. Mary

Is anyone familiar with the ins and outs of finding information on births that took place on board ship (in this case a Royal Navy Ship)? In 'Ancestral Trails' it says that the GRO holds marine registers for births and deaths of British nationals on British ships with births recorded from 1837-1930 and the deaths from 1837-1965. If one wants to get hold of a certificate is it done in the same way as ordering a certificate for an ordinary birth? Any advice gratefully accepted. Best Wishes Jenny
