Hi malcolm do you know roughly how old your grandad was when he got married.the reason i am asking is because there are quite a few john taylor's for birth's in gateshead/sunderland both on free bmd and 1837 online.i have printed all of them off so if you let me know how old he was i can let you know the few i have. sue

MALCOLM have tried to email you but wont go any further than GC/GR. suggestion, why dont you go to the records board and ask for a 1901 census look up for your great grandad and if you know your great grandma's christian name put that and then your grandad's name.if you have an address for them that would help also. good luck in your search sue

Malcolm I have found one possible John Taylor with a father Henry in the 1891 census. Seeing as he married 1903 I though there might be a strong possiblity that he was born before 91 so thought I would give it a try. Too many John's so I tried Henry and there were only 10 in Gateshead. Checked them all out and the only on to have a son John is as follows 1891 Central Ward Henry 35 born Gateshead Butcher Margaret 28 wife Robert 8 Andrew 7 Harry 5 Basil 4 John 2 Margaret 6 mths Would you like the image I could send it to you if you would email me first. You could then keep and see if it fits in with the marriage cert. It will tell you the father full name and occupation, hopefully if will also give you his age and not have of full age Irene.
