Hi Janet Hope you don't mind, but I thought the name Marley was so close to my Morley ancestors that I couldn't resist looking on 1837 and there is June qtr 1862 - Westhampnett 2b 453 - Thomas William Morley. Do you think it could be a mistranscription? If you would like the image I have saved it. Please e-mail me if you would like it. Cheers - Chrissie

Janet Curiouser and curiouser. I checked on Ancestry England & Wales civil registration, which I always understood was the same info as FreeBMD, and there is no trace of the marriage at all. On FreeBMD I have only found the bride's entry. Helen

I have a marriage record which I find puzzling. Rebecca Tadd married Westhampnett 2b 453 June Qtr 1862. There is no spouse listed on FreeBMD. I know the husbands surname is Marley, but checking "1837" to find his forename, there is no marriage listed for a Marley in Westhampnett for June Qtr 1862. Any suggestions please Janet
