My wife is trying to findout if her father was awarded a medal from the home gaurd, her sister has told her he had. She was only six when he died. Is there anyway she can find this out. Thank you John. |

Found this on a site on the internet: "The decorations awarded to the Home Guards included thirteen George Medals and two George Crosses, both posthumous. The King's Badge was awarded to members of the Home Guard who were discharged through injury from war service. " Unfortunately I was unable to copy the webaddress, but if you type Home guard medals into a search engine you may find more info. Helen |
