try a "place search ", you know the name of the area and the town, try that on the 1901 site, you can go through the census images page by page then.or the historicaldirectories site may be of use to you. (i can't remember the website but google it and shoud come up.) Kim

Margaret I have tried the 1901, but because the cottage is right on the harbour front there is no address as such - whoever was there was just known as the local carpenter. Help Linda

How would I find who was living at an address as such in 1881/1891. There is cottage in Boscastle Harbour front, Cornwall called the Olde Carpenters Shop which it was from the time it was built in the early 1800's. How do I start finding out who was there at around this time. Many thanks Linda
