How do i find a particular census for a certain ye

Hi everyone HELP!!!!! How do i find a particular census for a certain year...im really stick fast....have looked on 1901 census at a cost and they not exist?????? not even the house so i need to work back into the past.. I thought this was going to be a relaxing hobby LOL Any help would be greatly appreciated as im new to all this Carol

The census done before 1901 was 1891. You can look up this at your local libray/records office/ LDS if you live in the same area that you are looking on the census or if you put all the details on here I am sure some kind soul will look it up from Ancestry for you. Good luck.

Carol Info on all the censuses is on this site - click on Resource Centre on left-hand menu, then Getting Started to find it. Usual reason people can't find relatives on 1901 is that they have been incorrectly recorded or transcribed. For example, my Smoothy relatives were indexed as Lenorthey! I still have some relations unaccounted for. Give us details - other people may be able to track them down for you. Helen

Thanks so much for your help..here goes the house address im seeking went back 4 generations from 1970 to 1881 and its the davis family im looking for in birmingham thomas and maggie davis..children.margaret.ethel.lillian james.thomas an amy are the siblings margaret is my gran and the others emigrated to new zealand around 1926...with the mother maggis as thomas had passed away.... Maggie remarried while in new zealand and she went to lve in salk lake city with her new husbands children where she pasted away in about 1960 thats all i have to go on i have tried shipping lines from england but they dont go up to 1926 or if they do i cant find them any help would be greatly appreciated regards carol

Hi rosemary This is the lost side of my family my grandmas was so very young when her mum and siblings left for new zealand in 1926 it was a very raw memory for her and therefore i only have this info that i have logged here small snippetsw she told my mum.... carol

Wooooooohoooooooooooooooo Thanks so VERY much xxxxxx Yes these are my people only one missing is my nana Marion Davis b 1895 and 3 others not yet born lol..>WOW!!!!!! How do I find out about emigration to NZ in 1926 dare I ask for MORE help....erm..... IM so happy and so is my 80 yr old mum xxx Regards Carol
