robert thankyou,i will try that.ive just been typing in the name and then county.and then going to the bottom and selecting uk!!! durrrrr!!!! lol patricia i found it easy to install but that was all ,but now that robert has helped me i might be able to use it lol susie |

Just an addition it should search on England,Scotland etc under regions but not UK. Bob |

Sorry been out, I have the 2003 version but have used them for years and the layout hasn't changed much. In the bottom left do you have a region /counties box? you must select one of these first. If you just type in a name and click search it won't do anything, so in the locality box is should not say united kingdom but west yorkshire, for example. Bob |

robert i type in the surname and just press search.the name comes up in the left hand column but thats all it does at the bottom ive only got one green light ,that stays on all the time lol susie |

Susie are selecting a county. The free versions won't do a country search and usually limited to thirty results. Bob |

i brought the family tree magazine which included the above disk ive installed it by following the instructions but it doesnt work:( i can do a search but the results dont appear. anybody else having this problem susie |
