I've just come across this site http://www.jarrowonline*.co.uk/1910/doomsday.php (remove*) It's a record of 1910 rates books showing who lived in a property and who owned it. covers Jarrow, South Shields, Hebburn, Wallsend, Chirton, Newbottle, Sunderland, whitburn, Cleadon and New Herrington.
