Hi David I had the time of birth on a certificate in 1854 of my Great Grandad and wondered if he was a twin so I phoned the registrar and asked if he could possibly be a twin and they very kindly looked in the book and they all had the time of birth next to them. Maggie

Some particular registrars always added the time on for all their births multiple or not, they were just more precise than others! Kim

I think that times of birth were added if the baby was one of twins. Someone else may know different. Rose

Was it normal to list the time of birth on birth certificates? I have a birth certificate from 1852 where the time of birth has been written with the date. David
