I would recommend Family Tree Maker. It's not free, but not expensive. You can enter all your info., including sources, notes, photos etc, You can print trees, reports etc for which you can choose format, number of generations, facts to include etc. I would not be without it. If I am ever in doubt about what I know about an individual, I can always go to FTM and remind myself! I do keep a file index and loose leaf files as well---but that is just because at my age [nearly 60] I don't truly trust the computer! [I'm right---it has blown up on me too often-- and yes I do regularly back up, but there is always the odd last item that disappears!!] Wendy

I use several RootsMagic,Family Tree Maker,P.A.F (free from the Morman website) and the one i use most is Legacy (http://www(.)legacyfamilytree.com/Inde(.)asp) Legacy comes in 2 versions a free version and a deluxe version, The free version is fully functional and is very good, all of them enable to print out your tree and various reports and import/export Gedcoms. Hi All So far I have ONLY got my Family Tree data stored here at Genes Reunited. I would like to export the GEDCOM into a software package that will allow me to easily view and print out the data. I have tried to do this with a free program called "Heredis" but with no success. Does any one know if it SHOULD work with Heredis ? Which alternatives are the best favoured and why ?
