I got a lot of info for early years from the PARISH CLERK site. I just put DORSET PARISH CLERK into my search engine. I believe there are lots of parishes on the net. I found my gg grandfather with all his family! Also the L.D.S. vital record index is helpful for earlier records.

hi david have you tried the LDS site? if not the address is www(.)familysearch(.)org remove the brackets lol they also have the 1881 census which is free to search susie

Can anyone please get me started on researching BMD's before 1830. I haven't a clue where to start and now i'm really stuck cos i can't go back any further
