T for me too! And W. But now that the M's are up, I've found a great uncle. Only because his name is unusual - how I'll ever find the right Thomson, I've no idea.....

OK, next question... I have FINALLY managed to get hold of my Grandfather's WWI medals (Father had mislaid them). So I now have his regiment number etc. I can't check the records on DocumentsOnline as yet... the S's should some online next month... I'm impatient though... are there any other online sources of information that I could search for information ?

You might want to try the London/Edinburgh/Belfast Gazette online. www.gazettes-online co.uk. You can search for surname etc and find lists of military honours (amongst others). However, it's mostly by surname only, so not helpful for Smiths, but if you know the regiment number that should help. I found my ancestors details as 80104 Sjt. (A./C.Q.M.S.) A. McGarrachie, Inf. Had to hunt backwards through the pdf document to find out what for though - Canadian Force Military Medal for bravery. K
