Hi, I used the Salvation Army to trace for my garndmother the found her after about a year but unfortunatley she had passed on and I just got the details of the date of her death and where I can get the death certificate. I would recommend try to search yourself first as it's very frustrating waiting for information back. Best of Luck

Hi Venetia, Can I suggest that you try Joan Allan at www.myfolks.net. She has found many lost love ones for Genes Reunited members. Good luck with your search. Regards Margaret

You can use the National Statistics Traceline to find relatives if you haven't been adopted. For a fee they will search using Medical No's or possibly other id type records. If they find a match they will (for a further fee) write to the lost relative asking if they will accept a letter but its up to them to respond and if they don't it ends up a dead end although they do then realise someone is looking for them. This was useful when we were searching for someone who'd disappeared many years before. It established that the person we were looking for was alive and living in england which was more information than we had when we started although had changed name several times!!!

I understand that they search with their NI number, so if they are using another name, that may cause a delay or they will not be able to find the person. Margaret
