Bridge Chartham (according to Google) now registers as Canterbury and Swale district...so try here: Canterbury with Swale Wellington House, St Stephen's Road, Canterbury, CT2 7RD. Tel: 0870 243 7788. E-mail: canterbury.register-office*kent.gov.uk My daughter who works in a hospital mortuary suggests you contact the PUBLIC mortuary for the area and ask their advice on how to obtain PM reports. Replace the asterisk with an at sign! Good luck Dee x |

Hiya Im not sure but i think the 100 year closure period applies. I think it applies post mortem & coroners records. Perhaps local newspaer records may hold some clues, maybe in the obituarys. I have had some success in digging up info this way. Anyway im sure there is someone on here more knowlegable on here than me who can tell you. Kelly xx |

Hi Kath I also thought that, but i was wondering if someone knew another way to get around it. I guess i will still have to keep digging. Thanks Sarah |

I'm not absolutely sure, but I think if you wrote to the Coroners Office for the area, they might be able to point you in the right direction. I don't think hospitals keep records that long. Kath |
