	Some of marriage certificates I've sent for give father's name and then deceased instead of an occupation, others where I know dad had already died still give his occupation and no mention of deceased - I've a feeling it depends how the question was asked rather than any attempt to mislead, eg if I were asked "What IS your father's occupation?" I might answer that he's dead, but if asked "Tell me your father's name and occupation" I'd probably say Percy Manley, Organ builder

	Not necessarily. I presume that if the information was offered it would be written down, but I don't suppose the question would be asked.

Member Since: April 2004 Posts: 479 Send Message	I always thought David Batty died shortly after his son William Henry was born...but on William Henry's marriage cert (which I got oday) it states his father as David but doesn't mention his Father as being deceased. Would it give that information on this cert or not?? Sue Batty xx
