Genealogy Chat

My relatives should have been easy to trace they all had Greenwood as a middle name but I cannot find them on 1881 census. There should be Joseph Greenwood Bland b 1856, his wife Mary Hannah Greenwood Bland b 1851 and children Edna Greenwood Bland b. 1879 and Willie Greenwood Bland b. 1878 Their births and marriages were easily found on BMD but the census before 1901 has proved fruitless. Any sugestions?
