I saw a copy on first trip to local LDS FHC 2-3 weeks ago when the lady showed me around but when I went back there were different people there and I was busy looking at the films I'd ordered. Might go to central library and see if they have a copy. Unfortunately most of the records I need are in the north or Scotland and of course Ireland if I knew where the rellies cames from.!!!

Check out the county record office. They will tell you what parish records (or transcriptions) they have. If they don't have any, most of the sites I have used tell you whether they are in the churches or a library.

My town library (quite small, town pop. is about 34,000) has a copy you can take out on loan. In practice, most parish records are held in the local record office. H.

Heard that the Philimores Directory says what records are held where - to enable folk to access them. Know directory is very expensive to purchase but does anyone have access to the directory?
