GENUKI is a definite must ! I posted this on another thread (what's new on the internet), but it is worth repeating, as GENUKI is constantly expanding: "3) GENUKI Newsletter: http://archiver.rootsweb link has also been mentioned by Dereck Harridence, but it's worth repeating. It is to a newsletter, which, among other things: - lists all new information either appearing, accessable from the GENUKI-Site - lists new Census CDs available - lists new Directories available - lists new books - passes on reader's queries - lists interesting web-sites - etc, etc"

That's okay then Joy! When I first started my job, I was apologising if I made a mistake or needed to ask someone, explaining that I was new. Then I realised I'd been there 2 years and couldn't really use that excuse any more!!

Hi John (and Bob), many thanks for that info. I suppose after two and a half months, I'm no longer a true newbie, but I've just had a look at that website and there's loads of things I didn't know. Much appreciated! Mandy :)

As there seem to be quite a few new people can I recommend again the site listed below? I am afraid it is a long read and may be best printed and kept, but is so useful. http://www*genuki*org*uk/gs/Newbie.html replace the * with a dot. John
