Many thanks Judy, I will try uninstalling and then reinstalling his Norton, then give him your instructions for future ref. As I said, everything was working fine up till about a couple of weeks ago, so it must have been something he did wrong. (Brothers, what a pain!!!) Sue:-)

Sue.....Sorry, I haven't been in my GR mail lately! Internet Access Control When you installed NPF it should have scanned for applications that may need to access the Internet and set up custom rules for them. These can be viewed under Internet Access Control. Settings can easily be changed here to allow or forbid applications to access the Net. Use Add to add a new program to the list. However as you install new programs and they try to access the net you will usually get an alert pop up which asks you to choose the settings for the new program. If there is an automatic configuration its best to choose this as Norton have included custom rules for most of the common programs. J

Ann, Thanks for your reply. I also have Norton Firewall which is fine with IE, but from about 2 weeks ago my brother's Norton started to block IE. It was previously ok. I have emailed Judy, but wondered if anyone else had any suggestions as at the moment he can only use his pc with Norton disabled, not the safest thing to do. Sue:-)

I have Norton Firewall and it doesn't block IE so I don't really understand the problem. Maybe Judy in the States can help you. Ann glos
