Thanks for all your help Malcom, Philip, Simone. I hope that just stating his D.O.B, D.O.D, Full name, Service No and that he was in the Auxillary Millitary Pionners is enough to go on. I have all the application forms, i just need to gather the information. Got a long wait though 6-8 Months!! I also hope that the details i mentioned before are enough to claim his Medals... my Mum is not the oldest surviving child she is the youngest of 11! do you have to pay for them Simone? I imagine you do. I have been to that site Simone and i did find it fairly useful..got the WW1 medal roll for my G Grandad and searched for his service records at KEW, could not find them though-guess that there were the ones which did not survive. Also Simone...we are not entirely certain that he did not collect them...none of his children remember ever seeing them and perhaps my grandmother had a sort out after his death and binned them. Can the office do a quick search to see if he ever did receive them?

Ok, so i sent off for the applicaton pack...got all the details but i need to know his Regiment, Service no, division etc. Phoned around to all of his children none of them know, they do not even remember seeing his medals. However luckily on my uncles birth Cert it says that my grandad was in the A.M.P.C....anyone know what this stands for? is it a regiment? Also can i send off for his medals if he did not collect them? Thanks in advance
