My great grandfather was born in the workhouse in Leicester in 1876. I've had trouble finding records even at the record office as alot of the books that covered that time seem to go well into the 1900's and are subject to the 100 year rule. Sorry thats not much help but i'll be interested in reading any tips anyone else might have.

Is there any documentation on people entering and leaving workhouses. In particular I'm interested in the Barrow Workhouse in about 1880
