Once you get to 1901 you'll find it much easier. Ask your relatives if they have any BMD certificates, they cost enough without duplicating copies.

Chloe Be warned. Genealogy is seriously addictive! The main ways of getting family history info is through birth, marriage and death certificates, and through the census. Information on both these topics is on the getting started section, which you will find if you click on Resource Centre under Features on the left of the screen. Please ask for help if you need it. Happy hunting Helen

Start with yourself - you have a birth certificate. You should be able to find your parents marriage cert. With the information on there you will be able to find their birth cert which will have their parents names. Have a look at the Resource centre - click the link on the left of here. Good luck - you will probably get addicted to this! Anne
