Try usgenweb(.)org remove bracket Select: The Project's State Pages Select: Table of States Choose a State and find the link you need. US BMD are not indexed on line like the UK. They can only be obtained from the State Vital Records office. Birth and Death records can be requested on line. Marriage records can only be obtained from the State county office by mail or walk in. Most people born from 1890 onward can be found on the Social Security Death Index which can be viewed on the LDS site. This will tell you in what State it was issued which could be where the person was born. It will also show date of birth. For women search under married name. I live in the US.
