having been given a wee clue on places to look I have found about a dozen probable relations! www . altavista . com and put in the surname of the person you need info on. Should bring up pages of info . I put in the surname i am researching and got loads of different sites to lead me to names etc and have sent off emails left right and centre and even got some replies back already!! Distant rellies and now tying loose ends up thru tree. Jill x

Jill I have to thank you for reminding me about Altavista search engine. I used to use all the different s.e. but got lazy and usually only use Google now. After reading your thread I gave it a try and have found wonderful pictures of my husbands ancestors, Ramsay's of Newhaven. Some I had seen before but many are new to me, so I'm having a great time looking through everything. Thank you Christine
