What does U.D. and R.D. mean on a certificate

I think it's Rural district or Urban District, depending on what type of council ran the area and whether it was a town(urban) or Rural area. Kim |

I've received a couple of death certs today, and on one of them, under 'where died' it says West Norwich Hospital U.D and under occupation it says 'of Healthland Lodge, Stibbard, U.D. On the other cert under where died it say 'Scarning R.D' Does anyone know what these stand for ? Does the 'D' stand for 'District' ? If so, what about the 'U' and 'R' ? (both certificates are typed).
