thankyou...now i feel dumb!!! after looking at the original census i can see it says something about hammers, so i guess it means the blacksmith...thanks |

hi in the 1881 census i have my g.g.grandfathers' occupation as...striker (blks) in gateshead. what is this??? thanks carol |
