I have just found my great grandmothers birth in 1880. She was registered as May Calvert Tate. Her parents married when she was 2years old. By the time she Married in 1902 she was May Calvert. Did she just drop the Tate or was it possible back then to change it officially? Michelle

Yes her mothers name was Tate and her fathers name was Calvert. I just wondered if her marriage cert. would be legal as she was May Calvert by 1902. Michelle
