Does anybody use this facility? Does your information become available on the site? A lot of info has been entered on the site for my ancestors that is wrong so I was looking to put it right! lol. Also when signing up for the service you have to give quite a bit of personal info. Does this become available to anybody using the site? Jeanette

Jeanette, much to my everlasting shame, in the first couple of months of my researching I added my details to this site. I was not aware that they cannot be updated as errors came to light!! I think that is why you often get 2 or more entries for the same people with different details. Yes, I believe they keep your details in case anyone contacts them asking for more info - I have sometimes seen peoples addresses on there, which worried me a bit too! They put the info on after about 6 months it seems - IGI - and also say they may make it available on disc.

Jeanette Unfortunately, the LDS will not delete any mistakes, they just add new information - which is why the Site is so top-heavy with the same, slightly different (!) information being repeated again and again. Heather Yes, you should be ashamed - smackbot for you LOL. Marjorie UPDATE Ooops, just seen the date of the posting!

Crikey ladies! I had forgotten about this thread, but thanks for answering. I think I can be forgiven though as it was my daughters birthday and I probably had other things to attend to! lol Jeanette x
