Thanks for that, Sarah. It may be just what I need to demolish a particularly solid brick wall. Pat

I gave up my Welsh research for a while 'cos I was getting so frustrated with hitting brick walls, so I turned my attentions to my grandfather's side, which hails from Somerset. After getting nowhere fast I finally hit upon a site that has got baptisms, banns, marriages - you name it, its all there, transcribed from the 1600s onwards! I've now spent the last 3 hours digging through the info and have already gotten to an 1803 marriage, after already finding all the brothers, sisters, in-laws etc...and more to look through! http://www.durtnall.org.uk/Somerset%20Pages.htm I could be here for days..............
