hi there! I just happened to be reading a family history newsletter and came across a similar request. The suggestions were: -order film copies of West Indian records through LDS Family History Centre -check out the PRO's website for possible on-line guides -Cyndi's list website may have some links sorry I don't have web addresses to hand but a quick google should find them. Hope it's some help. Jan |

My great great grandfather, Thomas Sear, was born in Jamaica sometime between 1829-1834. He was married in Bedfordshire in 1853, but he isn't on the Bedfordshire census of 1851. So he must've moved to England sometime before 1853 or possibly earlier; he may be living in another part of the country. does anyone know if there's any way of finding out when he moved to England (he's recorded as being a British Citizen born in Jamaica in the census's)? or of finding any details of his birth? i don't know anything about his father, other than his name and occupation in 1853. Can anyone help me out here? cheers stew |
