Hi All Thank you for your replies, yes it is St.Thomas nr Launceston that I am looking for. I have contacted the OPC but unfortunatly his records only go up to 1804 at the present time so he was unable to help me. I have all the Genuki sites on favorites and they can't help either. Thanks for your advice, it is gratefully recieved. I think this rellie was from the planet Mars. Thanks again Jan

From GENUKI: The parish of St Thomas (often referred to as St Thomas the Apostle) is situated in the deanery of Trigg Major and the Hundred of East. It is bounded on the north by St Stephens, on the east by St Stephens and Launceston, on the south by South Petherwin, and on the west by Trewen and Egloskerry. In the 1841 Census, the parish was split between the borough of Launceston and a rural part which, for some reason had always been known as St. Thomas Hamlet or St. Thomas Street (or both). St Thomas-by-Launceston is now a parish wholly within the borough of Launceston. This ancient town guarded the gateway to Cornwall in medieval times, being on the main northern route into the county. There is only one village in this parish and that is Tregadillet. Hope it's the place you're looking for Jan

Hi All Please can someone steer me in the right direction, I have been looking for THOMAS HORWELL for a long time now, On the 1851 census for Cornwall his place of birth states ST.THOMAS CORNWALL. I can't find any records for this place, I have found a married for a Thomas Horwell 1808 at Mabe Cornwall, who i think could be his father as my Thomas was born c1808, but i can't confirm this. Any ideas please Thanks Jan
