Debi You must know a BIT more than that, otherwise why would you be searching - have you got an idea of the area? I have looked on The National Archives and also Access to Archives websites - no joy. |

Oh Helen if ONLY I did LOL - Thank you though for having a look on my behalf much appreciated : ) I have a letter of an ancestor ( Ellen Kirby born in 1860 - have traced her through records and her parents ) rambling on about her grandfather Rees Ashwell Morgan Rees who's mother was a Miss Ashwell and his father a Dr Rees. Miss Ashwell was a Ward of Chancery. No dates and certainly no areas. I found a bapt for Rees Ashwell Rees in 1813 Llanelly wales - states mother is Elizabeth and father Morgan Rees. So its a guess she would be called Elizabeth ASHWELL but I'm not 100%. It certainly fits. The REES side is a mind field without any areas or dates : ( The letter is a copy she sent off to a solicitor trying to track down inheritance to her family. Much happiness Debi |

I think Ashwell name coupled with Rees certainly looks promising. I would suggest you see if you can find the Llanelli parish registers and find Elizabeth & Morgan's marriage, though they may not get you much further forward. I don't know if the Chancery court covered Wales as well, assuming Elizabeth was born in Wales? Llanelli would be covered by the Camarthen Archive Service, www(.carmarthenshire(.gov(.uk. remove ( first. I can only suggest you ask Anthony Adolph when he next does a live session on this site.
