Simon, it's a lovely idea. I don't have any photos, but you've proved to me that my memory of a coloured photo wasn't a dream. It was of my granny, who had died in 1920, long before even I was born! The actual picture has since disappeared, but it's still there in my memory- thankyou for confirming it. Good luck, Mary

What a really nice thought Simon. I feel the same, people have been so kind and helpful to me on this site that I'm always trying to think of ways to return the favour! I will start looking for some black and white photos! Mandy :)

As a lot of people have been extremely helpful on this board, and as I haven't up to now been able to offer too much in return, I'm willing to colourise your old black and white photos, to give an appearance similar to the tinting that was popular before colour photography. To view a couple of samples (Photos of two of my sets of great-grandparents) go to picturetrail(.)com and key in colourise in the 'vist album' box on the left of the screen. If you'd like me to try out a similar technique on any of your photos (free of charge - as a favour) send me a contact message and I'll reply with my e-mail address for you to send the picture to (you'll obviously need an electronic/scanned copy of your pic). As the use of colour is down to guesswork/artistic licence, you'll need to let me know if you want any particular colours (for example if you remember the dress your grandmother is wearing). Cheers Simon
