Hallo Norman "GRO ...have records of the births, marriages and deaths of British Citizens overseas that have been registered with the British Registering authorities, e.g. British Consuls, High Commissions, HM Forces, the Civil Aviation Authority and the Registrar General of Shipping and Seamen" The FRC hold these Indexes in a separate Overseas section. If someone married abroad and it was in a country where the marriage was recognised in England (eg Cyprus, Malta) then would that marriage appear in the registers at the FRC and on 1837?? Thanks N
