Hi, It's possible she "took" her stepfather's name or was born before the marriage of her parents so was registered under her mother's maiden name. Also not all births were registered so she may not be on the GRO. If you know her birthplace it may be worth checking the parish records for the baptism of an Amelia. Gwynne |

I have been trying to trace the birth of my G grandmother - Amelia Sutton. I have traced her on the 1881 census, then aged 13 and born in Swaffham, Norfolk. I can't find her on freebmd or 1837online. Any suggestions please |
