Hi, Apparently when a church extends its cemetary the graves are in an 'unconsecrated' part of the cemetary. This can later become consecrated when a consecration ceremony is carried out. I'm not sure if that is the same as a 'paupers grave' Best wishes Dave

OK thanks for you advice... I'm going to try ringing the county records office to see if they can assist. I know the grave would be unmarked, but it would still be nice to know where he (my grandfather) is.

Does anyone know how I go about locating someone buried in a paupers grave ? I have his death certificate (1970's) so I know where (hospital) and when he died... don't know where to go from here...
