I'm still looking for canadian records. Is there a FreeBDM site, or some way off checking for marrages, Births and deaths there. All I have is an Great Uncles Birth Certicate. Charles Robert Stanford born Hackney (kingsland) 12.feb.1881. I also know what ship he left on in 1901, as a member of the crew. This I found on the 1901 census. Help!!! yours Ian Stanford |

Hi Ian: Was Charles about 5 feet, 8 inches tall? Grey eyes, brown hair? Just kidding with you. I THINK I found his WWI attestation papers. I'm posting this in the event you are "still around" and will add the website in a minute. http://www(.)collectionscanada(.)ca/archivianet/020106_e.html remove ( ) I'm sending the direct link to your address, as it has a billion letters and numbers (don't want it to get jumbled up here). Hope this is the fellow you are looking for. :~) PS Here's a helpful website (for general records): http://www(.)cyndislist(.)com/gencan.htm Includes "Canada 411" which is a telephone directory in case you want to check on other Stanfords. |
