Member Since: July 2003 Posts: 505 Send Message	Hi Lesley, if you have place and date of birth,e-mail records office nearest to place of birth,they will probably be able to do copy of parish record.I had one done in Staffordshire,1812,only cost 70p,you probably wont find mother's maiden name on parish records. 	You cannot get certificates as General Registration only became compulsory in July 1837. However you can get information from the Parish Registers, which are usually held at the relevant county record office. Maz. XX
