Where do I start to research a Great Uncle in canada here was born in Hackney in 1881 and I have a copy of his birth certicate. I beleive he was still alive in the 1940's. Yours Ian Stanford

Hi Ian, If you think he might have been in Canada by 1901 the census is 65% transcribed at http://automatedgenealogy(.) com/index.html. Let us know any other details about where in Canada he might be as each province is different. Regards Barbara

I traced a family in Canada by looking up the name in Dogpile's peoplefinder. Luckily it was rare and they had descendents.

I have him on a ship on the 1901 UK census with a younger brother. Thats my entire knowledge of him. Thanks for all the help. Ian Stanford
