If I contact 'Joe Bloggs' about 'Fred Bloggs' in their tree, does it show that I have contacted them with any other names we share i.e 'Jane Doe' or just the 'Bloggs' names? Sue:-)

Hi Sue: I just checked my contact, "John Smith". It shows that I contacted him, our shared ancestor "Joe Jones" and "John's" ancestor "Mary Brown", so the answer is yes, it shows more than just your shared ancestor.

Sue, if I'm not sure if I have contacted the person before, I go ahead and start to contact them -- it shows you the first name, which usually helps me determine if I've contacted them already. (And then press the back key to stop the contact.)

If you have contacted the person before then they will show up in Your Contacts (unless you have deleted that person from the contact list)

Thanks for the replies, The problem was I had contacted a person about someone in my tree. On another branch I had seen a possible link with someone whom I had not contacted, I went to contact them and the same name came up as before. Total confusion!!!!! Sue:-)
